System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 for Service Organizations provide a complex set of requirements for service organizations to follow in order to assess and address risks and to deliver on industry best practices for Information Security. A SOC 2 certification involves both a technical audit of compliance by a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and a requirement that comprehensive information security policies and procedures are written and followed.
